Income Tax Preparation Services
Free personal income tax preparation for social assistance recipients (with EIA worker authorization). As required for credit counselling and debt management program clients ( a basic fee may be charged based upon complexity of the return). Referral to other low cost/voluntary tax preparation services is provided as indicated.
Community Volunteer Income Tax Program
In partnership with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) free income tax preparation is offered to all Manitobans who have individual income under $30,000 or family income under $35,000 with no other business or investment income. This service is provided by CRA trained volunteers and is available for in-person or drop-off tax preparation at various locations in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba from March through to the end of April. Please contact us for specific dates, times and locations.
Education, Information and Training
CFCS offers information sessions and workshops in basic debt/credit management issues, alternatives and resources to community groups, agencies and organizations as well as other companies whose employees/clients might benefit. Workshops and presentations on EIA issues, concerns and navigating the system are also provided. There is no charge for this service for non-profit and community groups.
